Did you know that last year, total bus patronage in Otago was 28% higher than Waikato and 47% higher than Bay of Plenty, despite Otago having a significantly smaller population?

Jack completed a Masters thesis in 2020, focusing on public transport and its role in cities like Dunedin. He now works as a network planner, designing public transport services in Dunedin, Queenstown, and elsewhere in Otago. He will talk about how services have changed in the past 15 years and how they may change in the future.

It was really good to think busses for a change; they are a key part of the transport landscape we share.

Great to see also see @adrien, @david, @mjenks, and of course @jessica there too!

Did they talk about bikes on racks on busses?

Not particularly. @NathanK did ask a pointy question though about if they have data on how many people use the bike racks, but they dont have a tracker on there. And obviously the bike racks are mainly for non-ebikes.

Thanks for coming along. Good to have spokes there. Busses and bikes connectivity is so important, eh. Hoping that with the new government there will be funding available for an improvement of the bushub and better bike connectivity to the bushub.

Sorry about missing this, something came up last minute and couldn’t make it, sounds like it was a great meeting though!
