@devoniakruimer and maybe @Robyn - this might be a good fit for one or both of you to be involved with.
What do you think?
I have also recently moved to Caversham and saw this post, but Urbanerds Tuesday night, so cant make it, but if anyone does go, it would be great to get a bit of a summary.
I was able to make it (though sad to miss urbanerds, especially a transport one). Great to see lots of visions for what the street scape could look like. General impression I got was people were most interested in refreshing the appearance of the main street, but also some concerns about safety, especially for young children, and accessibility (kerb cuts and crossing points)
Feel free to hit me up for the long version
Hey Robyn,
did you manage to make a few photos of the vision? And what are next steps? Keen to learn about the long version.
thanks,
Jess
Arohamai, no photos, didn’t even think of it.
There wasn’t any council involvement at the meeting, it was about the community group responded to the question of what Caversham people want to see. The visuals to look at were now and potential future images of streetscapes - one of them had your name on it. There’s no plan or proposal to comment on yet.
After introductions (which included space for people to say what was important to them) and a brief presentation from Brent of the Tunnels Trail Trust we broke into smaller groups for brainstorming. Everything that was written down was collected up by the group. Presumably they’ll get it into a good form to take to council.
There will be a follow-up meeting next Tuesday at 7pm at the same location St. Peters Church Hall.
@NathanK @Robyn @devoniakruimer
they have been putting up a Facebook post asking people about their idea of putting vinyl/art on windows.
