Shows strong vision for public transport transformation through institutional funding partnerships and commuter rail, with good potential for cycle tourism development. However, he lacks specific commitments to cycling infrastructure investment, traffic calming, pedestrianisation, or direct safety measures for cyclists and pedestrians.

Increase usage through better technology for paying and tracking buses. Have all University and Polytechnic students pay $100 (or so) within their yearly course fees. This then gives them free access to all buses. Fund an airport bus. Increase usage of public transport. Removes over 50% of student cars in and around the campus area that barely move through the student area during the semesters. This then allows for better walking and cycling infrastructure around the campus in particular.

Then all employers - university, polytechnic, hospital, DCC and ORC along with other big employers provide their staff with free bus passes within their employment packages.

Public transport with guaranteed funding by the above then allows a funded service to deliver more services at a greater frequency.

Also support commuter rail from Waikouaiti and Mosgiel with stops into town.

An effective public transport service will remove cars from the city and peak times. Then arterial routes can be better managed and more effective cycling infrastructure can be improved. Electric bikes are a game changer for our city.

Cycle tourism is going to be huge for our city.

Better supporting infrastructure for cycles. Especially with bike racks, charging stations and even bike repair racks. Also cycle tourism is going to grow dramatically across Dunedin when the linkage of cycling route from central entering the city from the North and South and up through Middlemarch.
