Thanks Carmen - very interesting!

I’m pleasantly surprised that NEV wasn’t reported as too bad, as I find the cycle lane on North Road and the North Rd / Botanic Gardens intersection a bit unpleasant.

Did they indicate to you what they really didn’t like about both SD and the city? My guesses:

South Dunedin

  1. Narrow streets
  2. Lots of cars / parking
  3. Minimal cycling infrastructure
  4. Beyond the harbourside cycleway, poor connections to the CBD

City Centre

  1. Lots of cars / parking
  2. Limited cycling infrastructure
  3. SH1 cycleway is too close to / exposed to traffic
