I can see this working nicely in NZ; but it would almost certainly need to wait until we have a major government change:
First job: change Utes back to being the farm vehicles they were designed as: so tax laws based on rural/farm categories, (Vans for city-based tradies). Then look at subsidising ebikes alongside building the cycle infrastructure required.

Well, sort of.
In order to be eligible, one must:
- Have salaried employment (this is via salary sacrifice)
- This job must be with an organisation who has signed up to WorkRide
While I don’t doubt it is brilliant for many people (and bike shops), only a (hopefully sizeable) minority can actually take advantage of this.
Of note, it excludes children, retirees, the unemployed, the self-employed, those in domestic roles. That is a lot of people.
