I am the bikes coordinator for Southern Youth Development (formerly Malcam Trust). We have been beavering away recycling bikes that have been donated to us or dumped at landfill. These bikes have recently been distributed to our community including children, university students, childcare centres. We have established some online forms for the community to get involved. See our poster attached. Get involved by requesting a bike for someone, donate a bike or come and join our awesome volunteer team! Please reach out if you want to find out more…
thank you so much for your post! Great work and I have just talked to a uni student at the hospice and she did get a bike through you - so your presence at the university is so appreciated. I am sorry that I have not been in touch previously - but after the school holidays I would love to organise a project with you and LPHS.
Great question - apologies I thought I had added this to the original post: Bikes@Syd webpage link
Kia ora Heike,
Thanks for the message - it would be great to catch up early term 2 about how we can work with LPHS. We have a bike maintenance and recycling curriculum we are trialling in term 2 at Trinity College which would be great to take to more schools across Otepoti
