I think we should be really pushing the slow speed streets, and they should cover all streets other than main arterial routes. The is the way Waka Kotahi is moving, only very slowly from the sound of it. However on top of just changing the speed limit I think we really need to change the feel of the streets, and I think it can be done very cost effectively. Attached is a logo I’m working on. It would be big an bold taking up the full traffic lane, and something better than just paint. Also speed bumps making an awareness of the change into these zones unavoidable!
