“Six in ten users of pop-up bike lanes in Paris are new to cycling, says city’s government”
This has also been used with a lot of success in Auckland, as part of a gentle approach to introducing cycling infrastructure. It seems to work well, demonstrating the benefits to many and allowing problems to be fixed before a full commitment.
Note the contrast between the Island Bay fiasco in Wellington!
