I’m delighted to report that the Ōtepoti Pathways is now open for consultation. This is what the DCC transport team have to say about it:
Public consultation on the draft Ōtepoti Pathways Strategy will open on Monday, 14 September 2026 and close on Friday, 16 October 2026.
Ōtepoti Pathways is a long-term strategy to help make walking, cycling, and wheeling safer, easier, and more accessible across Dunedin.
Attached is a poster that will be used to promote the consultation. It includes a link to the consultation webpage, where people will be able to view the draft strategy and provide feedback via an online survey. Please note that the webpage and survey link will not be live until Monday, 14 September.
Once consultation opens, we would appreciate your support in sharing the consultation with your networks and encouraging people to have their say.
The Spokes @committee has been working with the transport team since the concept for this was first germinating. It is fabulous to see it evolving positively into a workable long term strategy to make Ōtepoti Dunedin better to get around - especially via active transport.
Please engage with this, and give them good and genuine feedback.
I hope you’re all enjoying this amazing spring weather!
If you haven’t done this yet, please make sure you have your say on the Otepoti Pathways Draft plan. The public consultation closes on the 16th (this Friday)
I’ve just done mine too. I’d encourage everyone to submit on this. The Ōtepoti Pathways Strategy is really important for the future of transport in Dunedin, which is in turn critical for making sure Dunedin evolves into the kind of place that people enjoy living in. My submission took less than 10 minutes, so please do contribute!
So great to see so many toddlers and children biking at the Family Bike Day at Marlow Park on the weekend
A good reminder to submit on the Otepoti Pathways strategy by this Friday, to help ensure kids have safe streets to continue the joy and fun of travel independence!
