Lots of good stuff here: trialling the idea, expecting and preparing to manage some backlash, the goal is making the streets better for pedestrians, bikes, and other users, etc.
Yes agree, the DCC could take note. I like the layout of the temporary lane too, unidirectional on both sides, looks wide, cars parked on the outside (and no indents for parking into the lane like the SH1 cycle lanes ) Also looks pretty affordable as just reclaiming road space (road diet) which will also have the effect of slowing speed of cars.
