Christchurch cycle map - pretty good

We do need the equivalent of their good effort down our way. It is using OpenStreetMap.

After giving this a whirl around town today (in Christchurch of course) it is apparent that the map hasn’t been very well maintained. The truth of cycling infrastructure can be found using a combo of Google Maps and Open Street Maps.

If we are to sort this for Dunedin, we will need a robust way to keep it accurate and up to date. @frstep, I look forward to your thoughts!

Can’t easily see what they have used for their mapping, but something like that would be good.

I did find a simple opensource tool. Have a look at http://www.pefe.co.uk/map.html and look for Steve’s Leith Street.
