Caversham to Princes St ride 2.0

We’re meeting on the shared path near the intersection of Barnes Drive and Rockyside Terrace at 11:00am on Sunday, 2nd of August 2026. If the weather is really bad, we will postpone, but so far it’s looking good.

Kia ora team. How do we feel about this Sunday for round 2 of the Caversham to Princes St ride? The weather is looking fairly reasonable (for a Dunedin winter!).

For those that aren’t already aware, this would be a second ride to investigate options for a safe and convenient connection between the Caversham tunnel and Princes St/The Oval. The idea is that we can then go to the DCC with a well-thought through preference.

I think it’s worth devoting 1.5 hours to this, with coffee or lunch as a reward at the end. I’m thinking we could start around 11:00 to finish with lunch. Happy to hear people’s thoughts.

It was a beautiful day for a ride, and the I really enjoyed the company. I will write up my recollection of the numerous great ideas that were expressed as soon as I get a moment.
