To post a new event, start a new topic (which opens the ‘composer’) and then use the Create event option under the 
icon on the toolbar:
Fill in the fields (is a little clunky sorry), and then hit Create. This inserts a code block into your post, which displays the stuff nicely. This must be by itself with a bit of space around it to work though. It should look like this:
