Town Belt Acitve Travel Trial Launch Event

Come and join a family-friendly celebration of active transport in the Ōtepoti Dunedin Town Belt.

It would be really good if lots of us could make it to this (sorry about the late posting!)

The launch event will take place from 4pm – 7pm and marks the start of a three-month trial closure of Queens Drive, creating a safer, more people-focused space for walking, cycling, recreation, and enjoying the Town Belt.

To celebrate the opening, the afternoon will include food trucks, busking performers, kids’ play equipment, and an engagement tent where the public can learn more about the trial and share feedback.

The trial will remain in place for approximately three months, during which vehicle access for residents and essential services will be maintained. Feedback gathered during the trial will help inform next steps, including whether changes are retained, adjusted, or removed.

Buskers kick off at 4.30pm at the Preston Crescent end, Boss Burger providing all the eats.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Aroha mai Apologies, while not a cyclist, I would have loved to attend but have to go out of town ¨¡p¨p¨ tomorrow to support the Bereaved Whaanau of a Beloved Uncle.

Kia Kaha for Everything,
