I have been in touch with key stakeholders and will keep you posted. Devonia is ccd into everything I do so we will be working on this together.

Itâs happening. In February we are opening the Coastal Connection - Stage One and youâre invited!
The Coastal Connection is a walking and cycling trail that will run from Dunedin Cityâs northernmost town of Waikouaiti, all the way to Port Chalmers, connecting to the harbour cycleway and linking the coastal communities in-between.
Stage One is the section between Waitati and Mopanui Rd, close to Orokonui Ecosanctuary, a 4.3km track climbing 300m elevation and giving stunning views of the BlueskâŠ
The DCC has told us on multiple occasions that it would be very useful to have some clearly articulated âsmall winâ type suggestions to work with.
After some brainstorming, this was arrived at:
Last night at the pub we discussed that we should prepare a new year wish list that we could share with the dcc. The idea is that these are âquickâ (âaffordableâ) things that could reasonably be ticked off in 2026. In the spirit of Christmas weâve limited ourselves to 12 items.
Looking at the list this morning it is clear that some of these are much more than âquickâ. It might be sensible to move some of these to longer term aspirations, and identify some more achievable one.
