Not sure if i will be able to join sorry. I bike via wilkie from St clair to work at hospital. Agree it feels safest. I believe DCC owns the strip of land behind the metal recyclers that connects through to King Edward street, currently it is being used to store/dump stuff by the recylcers. This is also an option being considered (not sure where it starts though). My thought is for connection to the city a shared path or bidirectional cycleway on the east side of south road past the cemetry would be the easiest to achieve (many currently use the footpath). I believe a new roundabout is being planned for where south road hits princess street as part of the princess street upgrades and this will have easier access across princess street to the oval (eg a centre island) so this would work with a route along south road

Was hoping to make the timing work but will be helping set up for the rally in the Octagon before 1pm so can’t quite swing it sorry! Will be roughly doing the same route but just 30mins ahead of y’all haha. Have fun:)

Thanks to all those who were able to make it, but also to everyone who RSVP’ed to say they couldn’t. Great to hear the opinions of those were present and to know there is wider interest out there too.
In the end we probably didn’t have enough time to go through everything thoroughly. I think it would be a good idea to have at least one more ride to look at some more detail. I’ll post an event soon.
